Gaps Between Fallout 2 and Fallout 1 Bridged With Gameplay Added via Mod

-----------
.....

Fans of the old school isometric Fallout games can now enjoy all the bridged gaps between Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 with a Fallout 2 mod called Fallout 1.5: Resurrection.

Fallout 4 has been out for months now, and yet it still remains in the spotlight by the virtue of Bethesda's slate of post launch support content, especially in the introduction of mods. While the optional Bethesda DLC is nothing to mock at, the longevity of each Fallout game can be attributed to the considerable modding community support. Fallout 4 on consoles will finally receive mods which is unbelievably exciting. Release of a new and ambitious mod may see fans of the franchise steer clear of the newer games in favor of the old fashioned isometric titles.

A mod named Fallout 1.5: Resurrection for 1998's Fallout 2 was released, and it's a respectful throwback to Fallout's old school isometric heyday. As described by the title, the Fallout 1.5 mod bridges the narrative between the first two Fallout games, and its about the same size as Fallout 1's map. Set in New Mexico, east of what will become NCR territory, the mod's story begins with the player waking up in a cave with amnesia before setting off on an adventure to find out why and how they got there.

Players can expect a lot from the mod and while the map is as big as Fallout 1's, there will be more open ended quests with many solutions available. However, players shouldn't expect many Easter eggs and jokes that were there throughout Fallout 1 and Fallout 2. That aspect of the game has been set aside in this mod, all in favor of a much darker tone of the game, one that has been described by the developers as a great atmosphere of hopelessness and decadence.

With use of an old school isometric viewpoint and an amnesia storyline, Fallout 1.5 carries some similarities to the unreleased version of Fallout 3, that was developed by Black Isle Studios. Much like that version of Fallout 3's story got scratched from the series' canon, Fallout 1.5's story will not be considered part of the canon for sure.

Now that the Fallout 1.5 mod is already out, and the official Nuka World DLC comes to Fallout 4, it certainly looks like the Fallout series, both old and new, will remain in the spotlight for quite a while.
