Darksiders: Warmastered Edition Gets Announced for PC and Consoles

A remastered version of the original Darksiders is coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One and Wii U in October, reveal Nordic Games.

Darksiders: Warmastered Edition leaked online earlier this week, and it is considered a potential remaster of the original Darksiders game. The developers, Nordic Games, have since confirmed the game's existence and announced that Darksiders: Warmastered Edition is coming for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Wii U on 25 October with a lot of improvements.

Mostly, the improvements are focused on the game's visuals and graphics. Darksiders: Warmastered Edition will run at 1080p/60fps on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and 30fps on Wii U. The PC version will be superior to its console rivals, allowing for 4K resolution and more video options.

Other than that, every version of Darksiders: Warmastered Edition will have improved textures, better rendering and shadows, and new processing effects. These updates will make for an overall better looking experience with the original Darksiders adventure, even though it doesn't appear to be any new gameplay content or features in this 'warmaster.'

Although this Darksiders: Warmastered Edition doesn't have anything in the way of new gameplay experiences, veterans may still pick it up thanks to its low price. Darksiders: Warmastered Edition will be available to purchase for just $20, which makes it one of the cheapest current-generation remasters.

If a Darksiders 3 game does release, it sure will be interesting to see how close does it stick to the original vision. Joe Madureira, the former creative director of Vigil Games, shared his studio's ideas for the third Darksiders with the fans, and it included four-player co-op with all of the four horsemen as playable characters, and a story in which players fight Lucifer in Hell. Darksiders 3 is an ambitious projects and it's realized that it could be a massive hit for the defunct THQ.

Darksiders: Warmastered Edition will come out October 25th for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Wii U.
