Capcom Announces Four More Mobile Games
-----------Capcom has confirmed that four more games will be released for mobile devices, with ports of 1942, Ghost 'N Goblins, Ghouls 'N Ghosts, and Commando on the way.
Even though Capcom has been incredibly busy with the success of Resident Evil 7, it looks as though the company still has lots of other plans on the go. The publisher has confirmed that it has four more mobile titles set for release, with each acting as a re-release of a classic game from the Capcom archives.
As revealed by the official Capcom Mobile Twitter page, mobile gamers will soon get the opportunity to play mobile versions of 1942, Commando, Ghost 'N Goblins, and Ghouls 'N Ghosts. The game all make up a historical part of Capcom's arcade library, and retro game enthusiasts will undoubtedly remember the fantastic gameplay of Ghost 'N Goblins and Ghouls 'N Ghosts quite vividly. In the meantime, 1942 and Commando both offer up a different take on the top-down shooter, and were very successful upon initial release.
No specific release window has been confirmed at the moment, except the fact that the Capcom games will see release within the next few months. Those who want to know more, however, can sign up for the Capcom Classics Pre-Registration List, which will advise once the games become available.
Capcom has also advised as to how the games will make use of the benefits of mobile play. It seems that the games will make use of touch-screen mechanics in some game modes, but while still keeping the "fidelity of the originals." Meanwhile, the games will provide options such as auto-fire for players who want it, and the titles will also have leaderboards against other users.
The news of these mobile re-releases means that Capcom is continuing its recent focus on breaking the mobile market. Prior to these four games, the company had also released the first six Mega Man games to mobile, while the reception to the mobile ports of the Blue Bomber's adventures were less than sympathetic. In fact, gamers were quickly criticizing the controls of the games, with a lack of precision cited as a main complaint.
