Beyond Good & Evil 2 Not Canceled
-----------Ubisoft says that it is "far too early to give many details about this new title."
Ubisoft Montpellier continues to work on this "extremely ambitious project," the developer says.
"In many ways, [Beyond Good & Evil] is an inimitable game--it appeals to all generations of gamers and is an inspiration behind many of Ubisoft Montpellier's past and future games," a Ubisoft representative said recently. "It's still far too early to give many details about this new title."
Also he revealed that Beyond Good & Evil 2 will come to "next-gen" platforms, and that the decision is very ambitious in nature.
"What we can say is that while [25-year Ubisoft veteran Michel Ancel, who designed the original Beyond Good & Evil] and the team at Ubisoft Montpellier are working with the core tenets of BG&E, they're developing something that aspires to push past the boundaries of a proverbial sequel and leverages next-gen technologies to deliver a truly surprising, innovative, and exceptional game," the representative said. "The entire team is excited about the direction this extremely ambitious project is taking, and we'll have more to share later, as it progresses."
Beyond Good & Evil 2 is a sequel to 2003's Beyond Good & Evil, and was first announced by Ancel in 2008.
