'A Future' in Sight for The Order: 1886 IP

The creative director for The Order: 1886 has claimed that developer Ready at Dawn has plans for the future of the IP and wants to continue the game's big story.

Last year, The Order: 1886 was the most hyped and anticipated title of the year, but unfortunately it didn't shine bright at launch and has since disappeared from everyone's memory. This doesn't seem to keep the game's developer from moving forward with the IP.

According to the creative director of The Order: 1886, Ru Weerasuriya, the developer has a few things in mind for the future of the IP, even though there isn't much known about what it could hold. In a recent interview, Weerasuriya said that the company is thinking about extending the IP into a franchise from the start of The Order: 1886's development. Ru Weerasuriya said that there is a future for IP and it will definitely be build in that IP. The future is something that was built from the start, and from the first day it will be worked on.

Gamers were hoping that they will get something like a bigger storyline from the first time this game was announced, and they are still interested in seeing. With that being said, Ready at Dawn have made a  lot of mistakes with The Order 1886 and would need to produce a high quality, long running sequel to bring gamers back to IP.

Now, this isn't the first time Weerasuriya has shared his point of view. Back in May 2015, a few months after The Order 1886 was released, Weerasuriya claimed the game wasn't gonna be a one-off story. After that was said, the game got mediocre review, which had both gamers and industry experts wondering if Ready at Dawn would have the capital and support to continue working on IP.

Weerasuriya and his team are not that concerned about the rough launch of The Order: 1886, it can be seen that it's more than obvious. If the crew at Ready at Dawn can learn from their mistakes, then there is still a lot of potential left in The Order: 1886. As a matter of fact, those who played it to its conclusion are aware that it left some things undone.
